Mount Pinatubo
Mount Pinatubo is located in the Phillipenes in Asia. It is a composite volcano and its main features include: initial earthquake tremors, sulphur dioxide gas being emmited from the craters, firstly lava slowly oozing out but then much lava filled with gas exploded out, pyroclastic flows and ash clouds. The volcano was a result of a 7.8 earth quake that occured approximately 60 miles away from Mount pinatubo. This caused turbulence f the crust beneath it. fortunately, scientists had foreseen the eruption and much of peoples lives and property was saved. Also, most airborne vehicles were warned about the likelihood of an ash cloud so most avoided it. However two military buildings were considerably damaged as a result of the ash. Furthermore, people that had lived on the slopes and surrounding area were displaced and even after the eruption, could not return to their homes because of the danger of lahars that had already buried villages.
